London Region: Eltham.
The mother of two grown-up children – most of Roberta’s working life has been spent within IT as a Database Administrator/Support Analyst for a major pension administration software company.
However, having commuted the 80 mile round-trip to her workplace, from her home in London for over 10 years, she accepted redundancy a couple of years ago and is now working for a major bank in Central London. A graduate of the University of Greenwich (BA 2:1 Humanities) – far from being a ‘little Englander’, she has travelled and holidayed extensively in Europe.
Roberta says, “ It is my real love for the individual nations of Europe that alerts me to the distinct danger that membership of the EU poses to the national identities of such nations.”
She stood as a BNP candidate in Eltham West ward in the 2004 local government elections, polling a healthy 976 votes, coming second behind Labour. She was also No 4 on the GLA list in 2008
