This was the 3rd year that Merton & Wandsworth branch of the British National Party had attended the Remembrance Sunday Parade in Mitcham, South London. During the procession we clapped and cheered as ex service men along with children from local youth organisations made their way from the Poppy Club to the war memorial. In all over 150 members, supporters, and friends of our branch were in attendance to commemorate our fallen hero’s in past and present conflicts after which we retired to a local hostelry which had kindly laid on a free buffet for us to enjoy on this most important of days.
A special thank-you to Bob, Brian and Ricky, all previous serving members of the Parachute Regiment, to Jackie and Brian for arranging and laying our wreath and to Brian and Paul for organising our attendance.

This was a really good day for all of us.Proud to be a member of this branch.
I'm proud to be associated with these brave men through the British National Party.
To all in the Parachute Regiment, "Thank you, you are great"!
Well done! it's good to see Londoners making a stand
As an ex-serviceman and BNP member I do not agree with a photo like this with a BNP banner on the war memorial. All those smiling faces on the photo, it's nothing to smile about on such a day as remembrance sunday, it should be a solemn affair. It SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR PLOITICAL ENDS. If the other parties lay a wreath then OK we lay one, but thats as far as it should go. Where we have elected councillors I am sure they march with the other civic dignataries, at least they do in my area. No doubt the local media will make a song and dance of this and it will show the party in a bad light.
