Slum landlords put thousands at risk in squalid sheds with beds

The headline is “Slum landlords put thousands at risk in squalid ‘sheds with beds’. The slums are the direct consequence of 19 Conservative plus 13 Labour Years.

After all the crap talk about health, safety and racism, Conservative, Labour and Lib Dems are directly responsible for allowing the rise of a ‘slum culture’ in the United Kingdom. Slums are Racism. Slums have nothing to do with Health and Safety.

People living in sheds often pay for a bedbug-ridden mattress, no water, no heating and dangerously exposed wiring which bypasses the meter. This is happening across London. Ealing, Redbridge, Islington, Newham and Brent are notorious for what has become a scandalous situation.

It has been reported that housing campaigners want a crackdown on rogue landlords, but councils, police and the Government are struggling to take action. Struggling to take action? Struggling to take action? Who is in power? The crooks are in power.

For decades the problem in Britain has not been bad governance but lack of governance. Rogue landlords should be languishing in prison. Instead, they are free to continue exploiting and putting people in danger because the idiots that run Britain cannot get their heads together to do something about it.

NOTE FROM THE MODERATOR: Comments that are not directly related to the subject matter act as a distraction. If writers feel very strongly about any issues, written contributions will be taken into consideration for publication as proper articles. The author of the message wrote about a very important issue that has to do with racial bias in football. While certain football players tend to be accused of racism, others who engage in acts of violence are not even mentioned.

Yes Mr C you are right in what you say, as you may well be aware that i am not the most up on writing. I had very little education due to illness when very young and now to old. My point here was to try to remind people that in London their is a danger of this problem getting out of control we already have two of the top clubs in London that are involved + MP,s and a few months time we could have a tinder box opened as border control are relaxed in the name of sport.

The link between the comment you made earlier and the subject in question is that we cannot go on talking about housing problems without tackling the issues leading to the ongoing housing chaos. When they tell you that Central government, local authorities and even the Police are unable to deal with a very straightforward situation what they are telling you is that somewhere along the line there is the fear of offending somebody or of affecting ‘community relations’. You need to start asking who are the so called landlords. Sports are a display window and it is all too natural to use sports for political purposes.

I live in Scotland, but about 6 yeras ago I travelled down to the Essex coast to help an old Aunt. On the way back to London the train travelled through Bethnel Green etc and I could not believe my eyes. You see my Dad came from the East End and we travelled each year to visits relatives. The people were kind but not well off. There was a real spirit of comradeship amongst the eastenders. Back to the train! What did I see? I saw what looked like a poor area of Dehli or kabel in Afafanistan. Terrace houses some with no glass in windows, junk in back yards and squaller. Slum dog would have been at home. My thoughts turned to the poor eastenders. Then I realised that they are being cleansed out of the area. Replaced with Third World invaders with their third world lifestyle. I blame the Tories , Labour and Lib Dems for having turned our once proud nation into a slum.

Yes many parts pf London are now an awful shock for 'returnees' to behold, and pretty depressing for us who still live nearby.Tthe East End has always been poor but there was community, not so now, it really is like some dreadful sort of 'purgatory' roll on the Olympics, perhaps we'll get a nice big cleanse

In West London this is a real problem. The 'sheds with beds' phenomenon is an absolute disgrace, and it is the slum landlords who are to blame. We might like to think that migrants are the cause, but 40 years ago, their victims were natives. We need the authorities to investigate and prosecute these landlords. The 'immigraiton status' of their victims is not the core issue…..these landlords are exploiting human beings. Are these 'landlords' complying with housing law/regulations? I think not! Health and safety? Again, I think not! Tax liabilities? Oh, I think we can safely assume 'no'! Wouldn't it be sweet to start rounding them up, and herding them before the courts?! "Delicious!"
