Circulation of anti-BNP newspapers decline again in June

Circulation of anti-BNP newspapers decline again in June

As the MSM campaign against the BNP is in full swing, nationalists will be delighted to know that sales at the “quality” end of the UK national newspaper market tumbled in June, according to the latest ABC print circulation figures.

The Times was down 14.8 per cent year on year (June 2009 – June 2010), the Telegraph dropped 18.5 per cent and The Guardian also dropped 14.8 per cent.

No UK-wide national title managed a year on year circulation rise, with the Daily Star yet to feel the benefits of its latest price cut to 10p.

The Times website paywall has only been in place since the start of this month, so it is too soon to say whether it will help shore up print sales.

The extent of the decline amongst the qualities has been exaggerated by the fact they have been stripping out free bulk sales and overseas copies from their circulations.

The biggest year-on-year faller was The Observer, down 20.3 per cent year on year to 326,821.

£5m benefits for disabled migrants who flew home

£5m benefits for disabled migrants who flew home

Mass immigration and regulations imposed on us by the EU are just two of the reasons Britain is bankrupt.

If anyone still has doubts about that, they should look at a story recently reported in the Daily Express about the millions of pounds of taxpayers’ money being spent supporting supposed disabled Eastern European migrants that have returned home.

Apparently more than £5million was sent abroad last year to 2,000 claimants who still get Disability Living Allowance even though they are no longer in the country.

The benefit, worth up to £6,305 a year, is to pay for carers and the added expense of getting around for people who are disabled, have difficulty walking or are mentally ill.

Some 2,000 claimants who have returned to Eastern Europe and other EU states will continue to receive up to £121.25 a week after a European Court ruled that the Government must keeping paying.

Last night there was anger that hard-working families were being forced to support migrants.

Conservative MP Philip Davies said: “This is utterly unacceptable. The people of this country understand we all have to take our fair share of public spending cuts but they cannot understand why people from abroad are allowed to continue to milk the system.”

Matthew Elliott, from the TaxPayers’ Alliance, said: “Taxpayers will be fuming that we’re forking out for migrants who are back in their own countries. If they have returned then they are the responsibility of their home countries.”

All the 3.1 million Britons claiming the allowance face new medical checks under proposals announced in the Budget last week. But the Department of Work and Pensions has been unable to say how they will scrutinise claims from people abroad.

A department insider said: “The Government tried to fight it but they were over-ruled by Europe. There is nothing we can do about it. There are about 2,000 receiving disability living allowance who have returned to their country.”

The European Court of Justice ruled that the Government must pay the benefit to anyone who qualified, no matter where they now live.

Current rules say claimants must pay national insurance contributions for a “qualifying period” of two years before they can “export” these benefits.

Petra Boublikova, 35, is still receiving more than £100 a week in disability allowance despite returning to her native Czech Republic more than two years ago.

The mother of one applied for the benefit shortly after arriving in Britain in 2005, the year the labour market was opened up to the Czech Republic. Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia as they joined the EU.

Ms Boublikova, who has rheumatoid arthritis, qualified for the allowance at the end of 2007 and returned to Prague soon afterwards.

She said she could claim from the Czech government but would not as “it wouldn’t be nearly so much as the British money”.

The Prague psychotherapist says she will get the British handout for two years and must only send a doctor’s letter to confirm her condition.

A Department of Work and Pensions spokesman said: “The overwhelming majority of these payments go to British pensioners who have retired within the EU, after a lifetime of paying National Insurance contributions and taxes.”

Welcome to Britain, a country of morons who work hard and pay taxes to allow immigrant scroungers to get rich and fat at our expense.

You couldn’t make it up.

ps: I believe that these rules have been ignored by the French and Germans. (Confimation required).

Circulation of anti-BNP newspapers declines again in May

Circulation of anti-BNP newspapers declines again in May

As the MSM are still attacking the BNP, nationalists will be delighted to hear that circulation of anti-BNP newspapers declined again in May.

The Daily Star ended a long run of year-on-year circulation rises in May, dropping 2.1 per cent to 822,934.

It meant that no UK-wide national newspaper put on sales year on year in May.

The Daily Mirror dropped 6.6 per cent year on year to 1,238,145, The Sunday Mirror dropped 5.9 per cent to 1,148,107 and The People dropped 9.7 per cent to 526,438.

Trinity Mirror announced yesterday that it was to cut around 200 jobs, or up to 40 per cent of the total editorial workforce, at its three national newspaper titles.

Elsewhere in the popular and mid markets, The Sun was the best performer – dropping by just 1.6 per cent to an average sale of 2,936,099. The paper continues to sell for 20p in many parts of the country.

The News of the World, which in May had a massive exclusive about Sarah Ferguson, dropped just 2.2 per cent to 2,858,727.

The more newspapers keep lying, the greater the number of people that will vote with money from their own pockets and choose to stop buying them.

This trend is not going to be reversed until media tycoons stop paying lip service to their political puppet masters and the anti-British NUJ, unfortunately for them the people are waking, and can see that what is printed is not information but propaganda.

Cabbies’ wages threatened by foreign workers

Cabbies’ wages threatened by foreign workers

We showed a video the from Richard Barnbrook and Chris Roberts a few days ago explaining how Boris Johnson had betrayed Black cab drivers.

This should surprise nobody, after all the Mayor of London is campaigning for an amnesty for the one million or so illegal immigrants living in London and therefore he doesn’t care about native Britons.

And he is not alone.

Canterbury, Kent, is at the centre of a foreign jobs row after a local taxi boss admitted hiring 54 drivers from 42 different countries.

According to an article published by the Daily Express only six of the 60-strong workforce at Cab Co are from the UK.

The rest come from nations as diverse as Afghanistan, Albania, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cyprus, China, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Slovakia and Spain.

The firm’s boss, Robert Jones, said his foreign drivers are better workers than the English.

“That’s the big difference,” said Mr Jones, “The Englishman comes to work, gets to a certain level and goes home.

“He doesn’t want to work any more than that. They’re more than happy to be getting home.

“But the foreign boys will carry on.

“If there’s a job, they’ll do it.”

He said he employs drivers from “all over the place”, not just EU countries, and that his local council vets all their visas before licences are issued.

British drivers say they have suffered a devastating fall in fares after the influx of migrant cabbies.

Independent driver Chris Olding claims the foreign “invasion” had cost locals £300 a week in fares.

“It’s not the recession, it’s the new drivers,” he said.

“There are more and more coming from Eastern Europe.”

Immigration watchdogs branded the trend typical of how working conditions were becoming intolerable for British workers.

Sir Andrew Green, chairman of MigrationWatch UK, said: “This is a clear example of how working conditions for many British workers are deteriorating. They are facing competition from immigrant workers who can afford to work for less or longer hours.

“It is no wonder employers and organisations are so keen on immigration – it’s good for profits but not for British workers.”

Dave Spearman, a driver in Canterbury for 15 years, added: “It’s like the United Nations these days – you’ve got boys from Poland, Turkey, Lithuania, you name it.

“I’m not having a go at them personally. All the fellas get on really well. It’s just hard to earn a decent wage with so many coming in.”

Colin Mitchell, a driver in the city for 20 years, said: “I also blame the council for approving their licences.”

He claimed that he made £900 a week two years ago but that his takings have now gone down to £600 or £700 a week at best since the arrival of migrant drivers began to impact on his trade.

By contrast, the foreign drivers are said to be raking in up to £1,000 a week. But to do so they regularly work for longer than 70 hours a week.

Turkish driver Mustafa Ustabas said: “It’s an open market.

“If you are willing to work and can work legally, then nobody has the right to stop you.

“Robert Jones is only looking out for himself.

“I can understand from his point of view. He makes more money.”

Canterbury city council spokesman said: “All licensed taxi drivers have either a British passport or a permit to live and work here.

“If someone is legally entitled to a licence then they can have one and there is no cap on the number of licences issued.”

Once again the interest of British workers have been sacrificed to appease the greed of ruthless employers.

Nationalists can see again yet again the usual argument that foreigners are more hard working than Britons is used to justify mass immigration.

There are two aspects to this story.

The first is about morality.

Whereas no one condone idleness and laziness, the fact is that people are not machines and it’s reasonable for workers to expect to work only a certain amount of hours so they can have time to enjoy themselves with their families.

Treating workers with contempt because they refuse to work long hours is clearly unacceptable, especially when the reason for long hours is to make rich employers richer and fatter.

But there is also a health and safety issue here.

Apparently there are drivers who work more than 70 hours a week.

How safe is a passenger if the driver who picks him/her up works more than 12 hours a day?

Surely those drivers that work 12 hour shifts lose concentration and are more likely to be involved in car accidents because they are tired.

This is another example of the negative effects of mass immigration and the misery it’s causing to British workers.

The only positive aspect is that those betrayed cabbies may become BNP supporters and it may help us to get the first BNP councillor elected to Canterbury City Council next year.

ASA rules against ‘The Daily Express’ for the 5th time in two months.

ASA rules against ‘The Daily Express’ for the 5th time in two months.

We nationalists know only too well, how many lies have been printed in ‘The Daily Star’, ‘The Daily Express’, and  others of the dead tree press smearing the British National Party.

One of these lies was a claim made in ‘The Sunday Express’ about a gentleman called Lambertus Nieuwhof, (who they claim is helping to mastermind the BNP’s election campaign) they are accusing him of having planted a bomb in a South African school. The readers of this newspaper would take this as fact, when in reality he is totally innocent of the charge.

The BNP’ website has a picture of the clearance certificate proving that Dr Nieuwhof was not involved in that bombing.

But as we know, lies in the Express Group’ of papers are now a feature, just like the bare-breasted ladies in ‘The Daily Star’, and equally relevant.

So it’s not a surprise that Richard Desmond’s Express Newspapers has fallen foul of the advertising watchdog for the fifth time in little over two months after running a misleading reader offer.

You are probably asking yourselves, where is the connection to the above story?

‘The Daily Express’ has knowingly presented as fact, a lie. It has attributed a terrorist act to an innocent man.

The Advertising Standards Authority has banned an ad featured in ‘The Daily Express’ ruling its suggestion that the solar powered watch on offer contained “no batteries” was misleading (lie?).

This latest sanction comes after the advertising watchdog upheld four separate complaints in August about ‘The Daily Express’ running adverts as editorial features.

The offer stated: “Radio-controlled accuracy with this Solar Powered Watch”. The ad also featured a picture of the watch and text under it read “No batteries, no winding”. The ads watchdog concluded the “No batteries” claim was likely to mislead as the watch did contain a lithium battery to store solar energy.

Express Newspapers told the ASA the ad was trying to explain that the watch would never require the pre-powered batteries usually inserted at a repair shop and it would be happy to state that on all future offers.

The ASA also found that the offer exaggerated claims about the accuracy of the watch by claiming: “The watch features amazing accuracy, literally to a second in sixty million years which is achieved by picking up a constant signal from the atomic clock in Cumbria”.

The watchdog ruled that while the National Physical Laboratory’s clock was considered accurate to plus or minus one second in sixty million years radio controlled watches, which synchronised with the radio signal from the atomic clock once a day, were likely to be accurate to plus or minus one second per day.

The ASA said the ad must not appear again in its current form.

Misleading articles and misleading adverts, there is no more we can say?

You couldn’t make it up.

Antifascists against Muslim takeover of Britain.

Antifascists against Muslim takeover of Britain.

A few days ago we reported that an organization called Islam for the UK planned a march on the 31st of October to demand the introduction of Sharia law in the UK.

Interestingly, opposition to this march is coming from an unlikely quarter.

Indymedia  the far-left organization that in the past, incited violence against BNP members, is now urging Antifascists to oppose this march for Sharia.

This march, according to their website, is “a spectacular procession” that will “call for a complete upheaval of the British ruling system its members and legislature, and demand the full implementation of Shari’ah in Britain.” Those who take part in the march will be declaring that “we have had enough of Democracy and man-made law and the depravity of the British culture.”

Such an announcement has already pushed all the buttons of the reactionaries of the British far-right. ‘The Daily Express’ was quick to announce that “Muslims” have demanded full Shariah law, with the majority of readers who don’t stray too far past the headlines losing the fact that it is “a radical Muslim group”, hardly representative of the entire religion.

No doubt statements from the British national Party (BNP) and the English Defence League (EDL) sourced directly from such right-wing tabloids will follow. This only shows that Choudary and his people know exactly which buttons to push in order to gain maximum exposure and infamy. It also offers them, by pointing at the fascists, a way to say that only racists oppose them.

It must be stated, unequivocally, that this is not true. The number of those opposed to Islamism goes far beyond the British and Western right. As a conservative, right-wing, and reactionary ideology itself, Islamism is the enemy of the anti-fascist and radical left movements as much as fascism and neo-liberal imperialism are. As the Anarchist Federation (A-Fed) put it;

“We are the enemies of what gets termed ‘radical’ or ‘extremist’ Islamic groups. Their doctrine holds the revolution back. Whilst we are aware that Muslims too have been the victims of media vilification, some Islamists do indeed seek to justify indiscriminate terror. Whilst we know that support for these ideas has been the result of the actions of the state, not least its wars, we oppose disaffected Muslims who take up these ideas. The beliefs of the likes of al-Qaeda and the groups they support are revolting, and reactionary, and hold back a culture of genuine resistance. Our enemy’s enemy is NOT our friend. We have nothing in common with these people and their authoritarian, misogynist and anti-Semitic ideals.”

With the fascist thugs of the EDL in Leeds that day, the time has come to put that principle into practice. When the EDL march, they do so against mosques and ordinary Muslims, their ranks filled with football hooligans and BNP activists, despite each group publicly disowning the other. With an active, reactionary, and highly visible extremist presence on the streets of London that day, the left cannot be silent.

The march commences at the House of Commons, and will make its way to Trafalgar Square via 10 Downing Street. It must be met with opposition, not from the fascists of the far-right, but from those whose resistance is grounded in working-class unity, anti-fascism, and anti-capitalism. Moreover, that opposition must be one which transcends race and religion.

There are Muslim groups – such as British Muslims for Secular Democracy (BMSD), Muslims Against Sharia, and al-Fatiha – who would readily oppose Choudary and his march. No doubt there are far more individual Muslims, Asians, and Arabs who would also stand together against him. What we must avoid is the practice of authoritarian leftists such as George Galloway or the Socialist Workers’ Party. To oppose Choudary’s march is not simply to oppose the implementation of Sharia law but also to oppose the authoritarianism, patriarchy, and heterosexism that groups such as his offer. As such, even if they oppose this march, we cannot ally ourselves with those who would promote values so antithetical to our own. There should be no racial or religious borders beyond which bigotry is immune to resistance.

What this is, then, is a call to arms. If there is no opposition to this march from the radical left, in the same vein as we would and should oppose a march by the BNP, the EDL, or the old National Front, then it will be a massive failure on our part. More people than ever before are dissatisfied with the status quo and opening their eyes to the injustices of capitalism. Groups such as Islam for the UK, as readily as the BNP and EDL, are turning that dissatisfaction away from revolution and towards reaction.

If we are ever to see a radical transformation of society, that trend must be resisted at all cost.”

This is an interesting development and honestly it’s difficult to understand what is going on.(ed)

Indymedia is part of Independent Media Project, a worldwide group financed by George Soros, the Jewish financer who in 1992 with his speculative attacks forced the Pound out of the ERM.

Mr Soros is famous for bankrolling leftwing groups all around the world and his Open Society has been criticised for political interference in Eastern Europe.

It might be, that Mr Soros fears this group could garner more support for the British National Party or become a threat to the Jewish.

After all Gerry Gable left the UAF because of its antisemitism.

Whatever the reason for this move, “we are living in interesting times”.

Circulation of anti-BNP newspapers dropped again in August

Circulation of anti-BNP newspapers dropped again in August

The Mainstream Media (MSM) keep smearing the BNP, but Nationalists will be delighted to know that the circulation of these anti-BNP newspapers dropped again in August.

According to the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) the number of copies sold in August, apart from a few exceptions, fell since the previous August.

Daily papers:

Daily Telegraph: 814,087, down 5.4 per cent

Financial Times: 395,845, down 5.2 per cent

The Guardian: 311,387, down 6.4 per cent

The Independent: 187,837, down 18.3 per cent

The Times: 576,185, down 6.0 per cent

Daily Mirror: 1,324,883, down 9 per cent

Daily Record: 347,302, down 11 per cent

Daily Star: 886,814, up 18 per cent

The Sun: 3,128,501, down 1 per cent

Daily Express: 730,234, down 2.5 per cent

Daily Mail: 2,171,686, down 3.9 per cent

Sunday Papers:

Independent on Sunday: 160,809, down 18.3 per cent

The Observer: 361,761, down 12 per cent

The Sunday Telegraph: 599,131, down 3.1 per cent

The Sunday Times: 1,164,831, down 0.72 per cent

Daily Star Sunday: 401,305, down 0.6 per cent

News of the World: 3,120,991, down 3.99 per cent

Sunday Mail: 428,613, down 11 per cent

Sunday Mirror: 1,237,227, down 5.7 per cent

The People: 586,414, down 9.7 per cent

Sunday Express: 646,861, down 1.25 per cent

Sunday Post: 354,870, down 10.4 per cent

Mail on Sunday: 2,013,742, down 7.5 per cent

The Daily Star is the only paper that increased the number of copies sold, mainly because it dropped its cover price to 20p in many parts of the country.

The Sun followed suit, as it also sells around 1.5 million copies a day at the lesser 20p rate. The cost of its basic cover price cut from 35p to 30p and of its further discount to 20p in certain areas is estimated at more than £50m a year in cover price revenue alone.

This affected ‘ Trinity Mirror Group’ national titles, they were evidently feeling the effects of strict cost-cutting which must have impacted on their marketing budgets.

The ‘Independent’ and ‘Independent on Sunday’ are the worst performing papers so much so, that Denis O’Brian, one of the shareholders of Independent News and Media (INM), the multinational company that controls the two titles, wanted to sell them or close them down.

INM is in deep troubles, it failed to pay 200m Euro to its bondholders and now its major shareholder plans to give up half of his shares to the creditors as part of a rescue deal.

As the number of people supporting the BNP keeps rising, the newspaper owners should ask themselves this question. “How wise is it to put these increasing numbers off  buying  newspapers that print anti-Nationalist/BNP stories”?
Even if the prospect of a single newspaper breaking ranks and supporting us is unlikely, surely running more balanced stories would incentivise more people to buy them and reduce their financial problems.

Express Newspapers to axe 94 jobs

Express Newspapers to axe 94 jobs

newspaper-tops

Express Newspapers, publisher of ‘The Daily Express’, ‘Sunday Express’, ‘Daily Star’, and ‘Sunday Star’, plan to axe 94 staff in a drive to reduce costs. The cuts by management consist of; up to nine people from the Glasgow office,  five district reporters, six from  features, up to five staff photographers and a further nine from the sub-editing operations across the four papers.

Last year, Express Newspapers were looking to cut more than 80 staff and casual journalists, mainly from the sub-ed departments of the ‘Daily Express’ and ‘Sunday Express’, as part of  cost cutting measures.

The latest management move to reduce staff numbers has caused anger amongst staff. More than 150 members of the National Union of Journalists chapels at Express Newspapers attended an emergency meeting yesterday where they unanimously passed a resolution condemning proprietor Richard Desmond’s “greed-driven plans to slash jobs across all the titles and endanger their future”.
The resolution said: “This chapel demands Richard Desmond use his vast personal fortune to ride out the current recession rather than force his staff to make further sacrifices: “Alternatively, this chapel calls on Richard Desmond to sell the titles to a proprietor who will restore them to their former status.”

Union members also demanded a health and safety check, to address claims that their workplace was overcrowded, dirty and home to mice.

Since Richard Desmond bought Express Newspapers for £125m in 2000 he has paid himself up to £46m a year.
In ordinary circumstances journalists should get all the support available but unfortunately this is not the case.

The EN group was, and still are, more than happy to print smear stories against The British National Party, including one that says Jews are not allowed to join the BNP, we have a Jewish councillor, and  members who are Jewish.

The day after our chairman Nick Griffin was pelted with eggs outside the House of Commons the ‘Daily Star’ invited readers to buy a ‘Pukka’ pie to be thrown at Mr Griffin and other BNP members.
Therefore, they deserve no sympathy until they start to treat The British Ntional Party fairly, and write stories based on fact and not  lies and spin.
