I am sure it will be fresh in the memory of Nationalists how, during the European elections, MSM ran a massive smear campaign against the British National Party in order to deter voters from supporting us.

What was really upsetting were the number of lies printed attacking us.

Journalists knew it was illegal but they deliberately chose to breach the law because they knew we that we didn’t have the resources to start legal action and the libel law covers individuals and not political parties.

One of the nastiest newspapers was the Manchester Evening News (MEN), at that time part of the Guardian Media Group (it’s now owned by the Trinity Mirror Group).

Its chief editor never concealed his hatred for us, and he admitted quite openly that any means was legitimate to stop us.

The good news (indeed) is that MEN’ journalists are now having an hard time because apparently, their new employer is keen to maximise profits.

Below is a comment from by Dominic Ponsford in the Press Gazette 2nd August, that describes the feeling of frustration among MEN’ journalists.

As the profits pile in from MEN Media, why indeed is Trinity Mirror cutting yet more jobs?

Trinity Mirror paid Guardian Media Group £7.4m for its regional newspapers business on 28 March. As of 4 July Trinity had already made £2.7m profit on turnover of £18.2m out of the Manchester Evening News and some 33 weekly titles. By the end of the financial year Trinity Mirror will probably have made the entire purchase price back.

No wonder National Union of Journalists members at the Manchester Evening News are ‘baffled’ that Trinity Mirror is planning to make ten of them redundant.
Especially considering the fact that when Trinity Mirror bought the MEN it promised that there was “no redundancy programme planned”.

In Trinity’s interim results it notes that the purchase of GMG Regional Media has been “highly successful” delivering “strong revenue and profit performance”.
If anything the company seems pleasantly surprised by how well the new division has done. So why the need for the unplanned-for redundancy programme?

Trinity is already saving a shed-load of money by moving MEN Media staff from their smart city-centre offices in Manchester to vacant space in a printworks in Chadderton, Oldham, which it already owns. Just last year some 78 editorial jobs were cut at MEN Media as it closed all the weekly newspaper offices.

It does seem short-sighted to make a new wave cutbacks just as the business is getting on its feet again, by further integrating the weekly and daily newspaper editorial teams.

Here’s what the MEN Media NUJ chapel said on Friday:

“Today’s statement showing encouraging interim results from Trinity Mirror and including an acknowledgement of the great financial contribution already being made by the recently-acquired MEN Media, leaves us even more baffled and angry that we are currently in the process of shedding up to 10 more journalists’ jobs on top of the 78 axed last year.

“Over the past few years, journalists at the Manchester Evening News and weekly newspapers have seen that when business is good, management cuts our jobs, when business is bad, management cuts our jobs and then business is improving, management cuts our jobs. Different management, same philosophy.”
The reason for the latest cutbacks lies, I suspect, with the need to hit group-wide cost reduction targets, of £25m for the year to help pay down overall debt which currently stands at £308.4m.

Trinity Mirror is to be congratulated for turning the financial performance around so quickly, and to a certain extent can’t be blamed for the economic realities of being a big Plc which has funded what it sees as necessary expansion through taking on debt.

But given GMG and the Scott Trust’s long association with Manchester, and its constitutional commitment to supporting journalism, might it have sought an exit from its regionals business which would have better served its old home-town?

There must have been any number of of wealthy individuals, or companies, with strong local links to Manchester who would have been delighted with the sort of return Trinity Mirror is now enjoying from its new regionals business, been proud to own such an esteemed set of media titles and not felt the same pressure to cut costs.

Nice to see those useless, unwashed, spoiled marxists feeling the pain, and this is made more enjoyable by the level of their stupidity.

Nationalists will have noticed how, someone who claim to be anti-capitalist and for social justice, is asking the help of the greedy capitalists that they claim to hate so much.

Why someone would be proud to own these newspapers is quite beyond me, they are not worth the paper they are printed on and the fact that businesspeople around Manchester refused to waste money advertising in them speaks for itself.

Usually journalists tend to oppose any plan from individuals or companies to buy their newspaper as they fear the new owner could undermine their independence but apparently those useless marxists care only about their fat salaries.

Those journalists deserve everything they get, not just because they have contempt for anyone against mass immigration and diversity.

They think it’s right for BNP activists to be assaulted by UAF thugs and they refuse to report in an unbiased way every crime committed by blacks and asians against native British.

Let’s hope all of them are soon to be unemployed and pay the price of their own arrogance.

It’s hard to find anything positive to say about the Mirror Group, the publisher of the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror, the People and numerous other local papers.

In all our elections the Mirror Group works together with so called ‘antifascist’ organizations to print smears and lies about the British National Party, something that a normal country would not tolerate.

Its journalists often breach the law, but they know very well that the BNP cannot afford to sue them in court and libel laws do not cover political organizations but only individuals.

Because of this nationalists will be delighted to hear that the Mirror Group has announced the biggest Fleet Street lay-off in recent years with 200 jobs to go across the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror and People.

Around one in three of those to go are casuals. The staff headcount reduction amounts to around one in four journalists working on the three titles.

National Union of Journalists general secretary Jeremy Dear responded to the news tonight saying: “It’s disgraceful that against a background of making more than £70m in profit last year and of paying millions in remuneration to a handful of Trinity mirror execs, the company should now throw more than a quarter of its talented, hardworking workforce onto the scrap heap.

“A multimedia future without talented, multi-media journalists is a short cut to disaster.

“This savage package of redundancies is also a stark warning to editorial staff at national, regional and local newspapers all over the country, as they reveal the real, cost-cutting intent behind the introduction of content management systems such as Contentwatch, as used at the Trinity Mirror group and ATEX, as used across Johnston Press.”

The company looks to be replicating the newsroom mergers which have gone on across its regional press divisions – at centres like Liverpool and Birmingham – where hundreds of editorial jobs have been cut in the last few years.

Trinity says that the job cuts follow the announcement of “significant investment” and the introduction of “ContentWatch”, a web-based content management system.

Trinity claims that the “new system and processes enable the production of high quality content across multiple channels while ensuring each title retains its quality, integrity and unique identity”.

The extent of the cutbacks is emphasised by the fact that Trinity Mirror felt it necessary to state in its press release that each national newspaper title will retain its own editor.

Trinity said that elements of the subbing process will be out-sourced and that news and features writing are to be merged into what it calls “super pools” of journalists working across all three titles

Daily Mirror editor Richard Wallace said: “Our future is a multimedia one and we need to transform ourselves into an agile media business, ready to grasp the opportunities and challenges of the multimedia world we now inhabit.

“Our traditional skills and processes have to change to embrace the emerging platforms and keep our titles in good health. We cannot continue to do what we do in the way that we have always done it. We simply have to evolve in order to keep our historic and world famous newspapers as relevant and successful as when they first launched over 100 years ago.”

However the British Association of Journalists (BAJ) was very upset by this plan and accused Trinity Mirror of “ripping the heart” out of The Mirror, The Sunday Mirror, and The People with proposals to axe 200 journalists from the titles.

In a strongly-worded statement issued this morning, the union said there was no justification “for the rape of the MGN titles” and accused management of sacrificing the papers and journalists for short-term profits.

“The 200 proposed redundancies amount to about 40 per cent of the editorial workforce on the three titles,” the statement from the BAJ continued.

“Management is ripping the heart out of proud newspapers to make more quick bucks out of the national titles. It is tragic.

The union said it believed MGN was likely to make an operating profit similar to that made in 2009, a figure which was achieved without any significant job losses during those 12 months. The BAJ said that MGN titles made £60m operating profit in 2009.

“MGN titles and their journalists are being sacrificed for short-term bigger profits with no thought for the future,” the union added.

“BAJ has been pointing out to the directors for a long time that they should copy the News International and Mail titles which employ more than twice as many journalists as MGN titles do and have circulations of two or three times that of MGN titles. But they are deaf to reality.

“The idea that first-class national newspaper subbing and page drawing can be maintained in some outsourced ‘factory’ shows how little Sly Bailey & Co understand about the demands of quality journalism.

“The proposed destruction of the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror and The People editorial teams is a crying shame.

Maybe the one with a problem understanding quality journalism is the BAJ’ representative, because it is clear to anybody with half a brain that the Mirror’ rags are a case study of gutter press and trash reporting.

MGN circulation continues to fall because the only readers they have are in the main, pot-smoking marxists, brainwashed students, or brain dead morons, and it is no secret that the Mirror Group is propped up by the Labour party, QED.

Whatever the reason for these cuts we are happy to see that those useless and NAZI journalists finally pay the price for their arrogance and contempt.

They feel that they have the right to demonise the white working class because the NUJ parasites have never experienced the hardship of the Common Man and they use their position to abuse anyone who dares oppose their leftwing and multiracial agenda.

Now that people are voting with their pocket they (NUJ, BAJ) will have to live in the real world like everybody else.

They deserve no sympathy and we can only hope that the bankruptcy of the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror and the People comes sooner rather than later.

* Sly Bailey, chief executive of Trinity Mirror, saw her take home pay increase by almost 68 per cent last year to a total remuneration of £1.68m.

Bailey’s package included a basic salary of £736,000, a cash bonus of £671,000 with an additional £248,000 in pension contributions to trump the those figures comes the £1m package she was paid in 2008.

Its finance chief, Vijay Vaghela was the company’s second highest paid executive. He took home £909,000 last year – this was 67 per cent increase on the £545,000 he took home the previous year.

Vaghela’s package included £430,000 basis salary, £350,000 cash bonus and a pension contribution of £110,000.

Its legal director, Paul Vickers, had a take-home package of £754,000 including a basic salary of £ 375,000, a cash bonus of £229,000 and pension contributions of £119,000.

Vickers package was a 46 per cent increase on the £515,000 package he took home in 2008.

Not bad for people preaching equality and social justice.

As we nationalists know only too well, the reason mainstream media keep attacking the British National Party is because the marxist dominated’ National Union of Journalists (NUJ) says in it’s guide, “the BNP must get only negative coverage.”

For too long many in the media sector have complained about the negative influence this powerful union has had on independent reportage.

I am sure everyone will be delighted to know that the NUJ is having financial problems.

According to Press Gazette, the National Union of Journalists is to cut the frequency of its policy-making conferences and raise subscriptions to combat a projected annual budget deficit of £600,000 by 2011.

Delegates at the NUJ’s General Meeting voted to switch from holding a conference every 12 months to one every year-and-a-half to shave £67,000 from the union’s annual budget as General Secretary Jeremy Dear warned about the potential hardship the union faced if cuts were not made.

AGM delegates also voted to raise union subs to help bring in an additional £155,000 annually after Dear told the conference in Southport, the union needed to stem an annual drop in income of more than £200,000.

The union’s funds were falling short as more than 550 journalists had left the union in the past year (probably ex Mirror group) Dear said, and it was now also making an annual payment of £160,000 to meet a pension shortfall of £1.8m.

Dear said: “We have to take tough decisions to save this union…

“Even if there was no inflation in the next three years, if membership did not decline, if staff receive no pay rises and paid no costs for transport, rent, heating or any other supplies, we are facing a budget deficit of £600,000 per year by 2011.”

Dear said the union was also taking a series of measures to reduce costs and increase income, including cutting staff, renegotiating contracts and renting out part of its Grey’s Inn Road headquarters, in London.

The motions passed by AGM are expected to create an extra £200,000. Other steps taken by the NUJ a spokesman told Press Gazette later, amounted to a saving of around £400,000 per year, helping it balance its budget.

However, the plan put forward by the union’s national executive committee to move the conference to an 18 month cycle caused fierce debate on the conference floor, with a number of delegates fearing union democracy (sic) could be compromised by the move.

Dear added: “We can have a conference every 12 months but we will not be able to afford to do the things our members want us to. More talk and less action is not the recipe for a campaigning union.”

Indeed the sooner the NUJ disappears the better as this organization is clearly a threat to democracy and free speech.

It may be interesting to know why fewer journalists are joining.

Whatever the reason, the NUJ and its members are beginning to pay the price for their contempt of the native Briton and anyone else that dares to oppose their plans and reject their promotion of a poisonous ideology.

As all nationalists know, the ‘Trinity Mirror Group’, publisher of the Daily Mirror and the Sunday Mirror, has joined forces with anti-fascist groups to print lies and smear stories, in a vain attempt to dissuade people from supporting the British National Party.

How interesting is it, that journalists claim to represent the working class, but just like their paymasters in Parliament they enjoy fat salaries, generous perks, and nice gold plated pensions?   They do not suffer the hardships that ordinary working people do.

So it is with a degree of schadenfreude I hear the welcome news that owing to the downturn in dead tree press revenue, TMG is to close its final salary pension scheme to existing members due to the increased cost of providing the service.

The publisher, which owns five national newspapers including the Mirror and the Sunday Mirror along with a string of regional titles, announced late last week the move was necessary as its pension fund deficit had risen from £37m in 2001 to £275m by June.

The decision was communicated across the publishing group via an email memo late on Friday. It said the company would implement the change after a two-month consultation with its staff.

TMG closed the scheme to new members in 2003 but said the state of the financial markets, new regulations and rising life expectancy made it necessary to implement the change to existing members.

The group’s 3,000 active members will now be offered the chance to change to a “defined contributions scheme” where pension payouts will be related to the amount paid in rather than a fixed amount relating to an employees salary at the end of their career.

The move was condemned of the National Union of Journalists.

Paul Holleran NUJ Scottish secretary, said: “This announcement on a Friday afternoon has left many of our members shell-shocked. (Hehehehe, much wailing and gnashing of teeth in the wine bars that evening i’ll bet .) ed.

“The scrapping of the final salary scheme is the latest in a long line of attacks on staff at TMG and serious questions need to be asked, and answered about the capability of the senior Trinity directors.”

TMG issued a statement this morning: “Closing these schemes to future accrual would help limit the increase in liabilities in the defined benefit pension schemes and help the group to fulfil its commitment to eliminate the current deficit.”

Express Newspapers’ plan to close its final salary pension scheme to existing members emerged last October with that publisher similarly claming that the scheme was proving too costly to maintain.

At least those hard-core marxists of the NUJ are starting to get a taste of what it means to live in the real world.

The problem with antifascists is that they never had a real job, actually many have never worked a single day in their lives.

Hopefully more and more people will refuse to buy newspapers until they are bankrupted one by one and finally stop poisoning peoples mind’ with their lies and politically correct nonsense.

As the smear campaign against the British National Party is up and running again, Nationalists see this as  proof that the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) demands that any NUJ Left reporter must give the BNP only negative coverage.

Now an insider confirms what everyone has suspected for a long time.

Mark Watts, one of the candidates in the election for editor of NUJ magazine ‘The Journalist’ has accused a “political faction” called NUJ Left of trying to hijack it.

Each of the candidates in the election to edit ‘The Journalist’ are allowed an email out to union members.

Watts has used his to launch a lengthy diatribe against NUJ Left and the candidate it has endorsed as ‘The Journalist’ editor, Richard Simcox (who is a member of the group).

NUJ Left says on its website its aims include: “Identifying and targeting key elected posts and NEC seats, democratically agreeing slates for elections, and campaigning for NUJ Left candidates, to advance our influence and further develop equality representation on policy-making bodies and through other structures of the union.”

Watts says in his email today: “The fact that the group is ‘left-wing’ is irrelevant: a cabal in the NUJ is poisonous regardless of its political hue, extreme or otherwise.

“This is clear evidence that ‘NUJ Left’ is attempting to hijack our union. It is an astonishingly brazen and jackass attempt. In my many years of investigative journalism, I have never known a group of plotters simply to plonk their game-plan onto a website.

“Let’s just say, this ‘NUJ Left’ crowd are not exactly clever. And yet, we’re on the verge of allowing this bunch to take over our union.”

Watts criticises Simcox for not mentioning the fact that he is a member of NUJ Left on his campaign website or in the profile he provided for publication on this website.

Watts quotes Channel 4 news anchor Jon Snow as one of his supporters in his email.

Snow says: “I left the NUJ over the absurd Israel boycott concocted by another union clique.

“I support the Watts campaign. It is time members voted for a truly independent journalists’ union.”

According to Watts, NUJ Left can muster 400 votes out of the union’s estimated 40,000 members, and he believes that could be enough to swing election to the £51,000 a year position if turnout is low

If Mr Watts is successful in his campaign, and brings any significant change to the NUJ remains to be seen.

The left has, as we have been aware for many years, infiltrated the NUJ to the extent that accurate reporting of news is a rarity. Journos become Editors, and is it a surprise that sales are falling?

Who would pay for a tabloid or broadsheet that tells one what to think, instead of allowing the buyer to make up their own mind?

‘The Evening Standard’ now has to rely on advertising to keep it going, once a formidable organ for the dissemination of information, it is now just a hack. As an aside to this, what are its advertising rates doing to the other daily papers, I bet the owners of the others are not too happy.

Why do newspapers keep alienating BNP supporters at a time when many of them are almost bankrupt because of falling circulation and slump in advertising.

Express Newspapers, publisher of ‘The Daily Express’, ‘Sunday Express’, ‘Daily Star’, and ‘Sunday Star’, plan to axe 94 staff in a drive to reduce costs. The cuts by management consist of; up to nine people from the Glasgow office,  five district reporters, six from  features, up to five staff photographers and a further nine from the sub-editing operations across the four papers.

Last year, Express Newspapers were looking to cut more than 80 staff and casual journalists, mainly from the sub-ed departments of the ‘Daily Express’ and ‘Sunday Express’, as part of  cost cutting measures.

The latest management move to reduce staff numbers has caused anger amongst staff. More than 150 members of the National Union of Journalists chapels at Express Newspapers attended an emergency meeting yesterday where they unanimously passed a resolution condemning proprietor Richard Desmond’s “greed-driven plans to slash jobs across all the titles and endanger their future”.
The resolution said: “This chapel demands Richard Desmond use his vast personal fortune to ride out the current recession rather than force his staff to make further sacrifices: “Alternatively, this chapel calls on Richard Desmond to sell the titles to a proprietor who will restore them to their former status.”

Union members also demanded a health and safety check, to address claims that their workplace was overcrowded, dirty and home to mice.

Since Richard Desmond bought Express Newspapers for £125m in 2000 he has paid himself up to £46m a year.
In ordinary circumstances journalists should get all the support available but unfortunately this is not the case.

The EN group was, and still are, more than happy to print smear stories against The British National Party, including one that says Jews are not allowed to join the BNP, we have a Jewish councillor, and  members who are Jewish.

The day after our chairman Nick Griffin was pelted with eggs outside the House of Commons the ‘Daily Star’ invited readers to buy a ‘Pukka’ pie to be thrown at Mr Griffin and other BNP members.
Therefore, they deserve no sympathy until they start to treat The British Ntional Party fairly, and write stories based on fact and not  lies and spin.

The Guardian Media Group (GMG), the holding company that controls The Guardian and The Observer, is desperate to cut costs after it reported a pre-tax loss of £89.8m. So, among other measures, it plans to reduce its payment for freelance photographers’ work.

Clearly this decision upset many freelance photographers who conducted a protest outside the offices of the Guardian News & Media in response to its decision to end payments for the re-use of commissioned pictures.

According to the National Union of Journalists around 40 photographers attended the protest this morning handing in a petition protesting against the move. Some 900 people have signed the petition so far protesting against the plan by the publisher of the Observer and the Guardian to pay once for unlimited re-use of images. Until today, the company has paid photographers each time they use their photos.

GNM told its contributors in July the standard terms for commissioned photography would change to include “a non-exclusive, perpetual licence to re-use commissioned photography in its products and services without further payment.”

John Toner, NUJ freelance organiser, said the change could cost many freelance photographers 30 per cent of their income.

He said: “At a time when press photographers are suffering severe hardship as a result of the economic downturn, it comes as a further blow to be informed that GNM demands unlimited re-use of photographs free of charge.
“One of the reasons that photographers like working for the Guardian is that they always respected photographers.
“They feel this is a company that is understanding of photographers, respecting of their work and their rights, and it’s now reversing its position.”

Maybe the real disappointment lies in the double-standards of a company that claims to fight for equality and social justice but behave like the the greedy capitalists it despises so much.

After all this is the same editorial group that supports unlimited mass immigration, uses negative terms to describe the white working class while praising ethnic minorities and openly incite antifascist thugs to attack anyone supporting the British National Party.

The truth is that the GMG is now the mouthpiece of the corrupt liberal elite that betrayed this country and the Hampstead-based anti-white liberals who care only about their profits and have nothing but contempt for the white working class.
